Task Force on Fusion Energy

The Department of Energy's Office of Fusion Energy Sciences manages a scientific research program whose overarching mission is to establish the knowledge base for an environmentally benign and economically competitive fusion power source. The Task Force on Fusion Energy has been requested to review and analyze the Department of Energy's fusion energy technologies (both inertial and magnetic), and to provide recommendations on the role of each technology as part of a national fusion energy research program.
