Tennessee Valley Electric System Advisory Committee

The Tennessee Valley Electric System Advisory Committee was formed to provide advice, information, and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board (SEAB) on a legislative proposal to define the role of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in a restructured competitive electric industry. Former South Carolina Congressman, Butler Derrick, a member of the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board, served as Chairman of the Advisory Committee. The Committee submitted its final report to the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board, which subsequently endorsed it during its Seventeenth Plenary Session on March 31, 1998.
